Chinese solar company Risen Energy has signed a contract to supply modules for 261MW of capacity in Spain to Opdenergy.
Risen will provide its high-efficiency photovoltaic panels for a solar farm the Spanish renewables company is building.
Opdenergy chief executive Luis Cid said: “The reasons why we chose Risen Energy as our partner for this European project include the firm’s rapid expansion worldwide and sound financial management backed by strong innovation and research and development capabilities.”
Risen Energy said the average efficiency of its double-sided PV cells exceeds 22.2%.
Opdenergy is developing a PV pipeline of 300MW in Spain in 2019, which comprises seven projects.
They include a 100MW PV farm in Andalusia, a 50MW plant in Puerto Real, in Cadiz, and another 50MW plant in Alcala de Guadaira, in Seville, plus 148MW in Aragon.
