Siemens Gamesa has won a turbine supply deal for the 128MW Ventos da Serra do Mel 2 wind project Brazil from French developer Voltalia in Rio Grande do Norte.
Siemens will supply 36 of its 3.4-132 turbines, with individual output of 3.55MW, for the facility, being developed in the Rio Grande do Norte region of the country.
The wind farm will be commissioned in 2020.
Ventos da Serra do Mel 2 is the third contract signed with Voltalia in Brazil, following the 27MW Vila Acre I, which came online in 2017, and the 163MW Ventos da Serra do Mel 1.
Voltalia Brazil chief executive Robert Klein said: “Siemens Gamesa is a trusted partner for the supply of wind turbines and we are glad to continue our partnership with them to build new projects.”
Since 2012, Siemens Gamesa has delivered more than 3.1GW for nearly 60 projects across Brazil.
