The Chinese province of Jiangsu has approved 24 offshore wind farms with a combined capacity of almost 7GW, according to local media sources.
The country’s state press agency Xinhua reported approval of projects totalling 6.7GW off the coast of the province in eastern China, citing sources with the State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Company.

Total investment value of the wind farms will be about $18bn, the report said.
The projects are expected to be completed by the end of next year, it added.
