Vestas has won a turnkey order for turbines totalling 252MW from Engie subsidiary Vivid Solaire Energy for an unnamed wind farm in India.
The engineering, procurement and construction contract will see the Danish manufacturer supply, install and commission 126 V120-2.0MW machines, as well as provide civil and electrical work for the project located at Thattaparai in the Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu state.
Delivery is expected to start in the second quarter of 2019, while commissioning is slated for the third and fourth quarter of 2019.
Vestas will also service the turbines under a 10-year full scope active output management 5000 service agreement and Vestas online business SCADA solution.

Meanwhile, the Danish company has opened a blade manufacturing facility in Russia, according to RAWI, the Russian wind energy association.
The Vestas Manufacturing Rus plant is located in the Ulyanovsk region and will produce 55 62-metre long blades in 2019, RAWI said.
The blades will be used for V124 models with individual capacities of 3.6, 3.8 and 4.2MW.
