Enel has confirmed an order for 201MW of wind turbines with Siemens Gamesa for the Kola wind farm in Murmansk, Russia.
The order is for the supply, installation and commissioning of 57 turbines from the Siemens Gamesa 3.X platform.
Full scope operations and maintenance services during the first two years with an option to extend are also included.
The Kola project is due to be commissioned in 2021.
The order is part of the preliminary agreement signed with Enel in 2017 for the supply of 291MW to two wind farms in Russia.
The first order, for the Azovskaya project with 90MW capacity, was announced by Siemens Gamesa in early October 2018.
Russia has a target to develop local renewable energy resources reaching 3.3GW of installed wind capacity by 2024 and to sustain a local wind energy industry.
Siemens Gamesa onshore north Europe and Middle East region chief executive Steven Pryor said: “We are proud to announce this second big contract in Russia and to continue the successful cooperation with Enel.
