Siemens Gamesa is to supply turbines totalling almost 200MW for Southern Power’s Reading wind farm in Kansas.
The order covers 48 3.4-132 and 14 2.3-108 machines for the 198.5MW project in Lyon and Osage counties.

It also includes a 20-year service and maintenance agreement.
Siemens Gamesa head of service Americas Darnell Walker said: “We are pleased to partner with Southern Power for the Reading wind project and we are committed to upholding the highest standard of safety, availability and reliability that we are known for providing.”
The company has 484 turbines installed in Kansas across nine projects with a combined capacity of over 1GW.
Southern Power has previously partnered with Siemens Gamesa on four wind farms totalling 720MW.
