ABO Invest is looking to broaden its renewable energy portfolio with the possible acquisition of solar farms in Greece.
The German investor has previously concentrated its investments on wind energy.
ABO Invest said it is looking at projects that return a target of at least 5% on the equity invested in its half year results for 2018.
Its current portfolio generated 9% less electricity revenue than expected in the first six months of the year.
The Wennerstorf, Losheim, Repperndorf, Couffe, Souilly and Cuq wind farms in Germany and France produced electricity yield in a range of +5% to -4%. However, two wind farms in Finland and the Glenough project in Ireland produced power 10% and 14% under budget.
ABO Invest’s income statement showed a deficit of €500,000 in the first half of the year, an improvement on the €1.8m loss in the same period last year.
