German fabricator EEW is pushing the boundaries of tubular technology with a record 156-metre unit to be installed at a Mediterranean Sea project.
The company has completed the first of 16 pinpiles for Dutch company Heerema, which will use the components as part of a gas field development off Israel.

“Due to the extreme depth and ground conditions the piles must be very long,” said EEW.
The record-breaking component requires two vehicles for transport. It will help to anchor a production platform in the Leviathan field some 125km off Haifa.
In addition to the piles, EEW is also responsible for the production and installation of the sea-fastening.
Leviathan holds an estimated deposit of around 22 trillion cubic feet of gas.
