Kincardine Offshore is preparing to moor the first floating turbine at is eventual 50MW array off the north-east coast of Scotland.
The combined Vestas 2MW machine and Principle Power foundation left the Port of Dundee on 16 August ahead of mooring at the project site off Aberdeenshire.
Installation is being coordinated by contractor Bourbon. A further six MHI Vestas 8.4MW turbines are due to follow in 2019.
ACS-owned Kincardine must go live before October this year in order to qualify for Scottish floating wind Renewables Obligation supports.
The initial Kincardine unit was previously deployed off Portugal (pictured).
