Boskalis has signed a five-year subsea cable repair framework with offshore wind infrastructure company Transmission Capital Partners.
The marine contractor will provide its “cable integrity solutions” to the OFTO’s assets across six operational UK offshore wind farms.
The framework also ensures the availability of Boskalis vessels and engineering expertise as well as an existing cable storage facility in the port of Vlissingen in the Netherlands.
Projects in the TCP fold include Barrow, Gunfleet Sands, Lincs, Ormonde, Robin Rigg and Westermost Rough.
“The framework agreement provides access to the Boskalis-owned universal joints, which are deployable for many different types of cable including all of the cables within TCP’s portfolio,” said the contractor.
TCP commercial director Dominik Adamus said: “This framework agreement will further support our drive towards reducing the time and costs of repairs by having immediate access to the universal joints and suitable fleet of vessels.”
Boskalis launched its cable integrity solutions mid-2017 to build on “a successful track record in fast-response cable repairs over the past 10 years”.
