The International Marine Contractors Association is ramping up its involvement with offshore renewable energy including the production of new industry guidelines.
The marine contractors body said it was working on new guidance for operating crew transfer and dynamic positioning vessels at offshore wind farms.
It is also developing guidelines for standardised boat landings and gangway landing areas and collaborating with G+ Global Offshore Wind Health and Safety Organisation on new guidance for immersion suits when transferring to and from vessels at sea.
IMCA technical advisor Andy Goldsmith said: “We have been busy responding to the needs of our members in this growing sector. Our committee interacts directly with field developers, suppliers and regulators within the sector.”
The IMCA’s marine renewable energy committee will hold a technical seminar on offshore renewables in 2019, the organisation said.
