Siemens Convergence Creators has been lined up by Orsted to supply and maintain SCADA networks at operational and future offshore wind farms.
The deal will cover eight years and will also include SCC supplying kit to the Danish developer’s 752MW Borssele 1&2 wind farm off the Netherlands due online in 2020.
Included in the deal is mobile communication systems including design, procurement, fabrication, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance support.
The contract is an “important milestone” for SCC, said Bernard Payer, who heads up its Critical Communication and Professional Services Business Unit.
“Orsted’s strategic commitment over a period of eight years is an absolute vote of confidence for SCC and we are proud to be an integral part of Orsted’s endeavour to substantially strengthen renewable energy on a global level.”
