Seafox and subcontractor Ardent have completed the decommissioning of two meteorological masts at the 4.8GW Dogger Bank offshore wind farm zone off the UK east coast.
The two suction bucket monopile foundations and lattice tower structures had been installed four years ago to gather climate data for the offshore development.
Seafox and Ardent carried out a pre-removal survey to confirm the proposed removal procedure, as well as project engineering, fabrication and execution.
The project team also included SSE, Global Maritime, Universal Foundations and Searoc.
The removal was first reported in the subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS.
SSE project manager Ollie Flattery said: “The successful and safe removal of the structures is a great accolade for all the parties involved.”
Dogger Bank is split into four 1.2GW projects.
SSE and Statoil are to develop the 1.2GW trio of Creyke Beck A, Creyke Beck B and Teesside A, while Innogy will develop the Teesside B site.
