The Carbon Trust is seeking input to a joint industry project focused on commercial-scale floating offshore wind farms.
The Floating Wind JIP has launched two separate tenders inviting developers to participate with applications due back 1 December.
One invite asks developers to review design requirements for floating turbines while evaluating the impact larger 10-15MW machines will have on foundation and mooring system designs.
A separate call asks developers to evaluate methods for undertaking heavy-lifts offshore during installation and maintenance campaigns at floating projects.
The Carbon Trust said it was looking to identify key technology gaps for floating-to-floating lifts.
Floating Wind JIP is a collaborative effort between the Carbon Trust, Scottish Government and 10 offshore wind developers: Orsted, Engie, Eolfi, Eon, innogy, Kyuden Mirai Energy, Statoil, EnBW, WPD and Vattenfall.
