MPI Offshore jack-up vessel MPI Enterprise has completed installation of 54 Senvion 6.2M-126 turbines at the 332MW Nordsee 1 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
Turbine installation kicked off in early March, and the project delivered first power in the same month.
SSC Wind and REETEC were on the installation job on behalf of Senvion.
All 54 monopile foundations and transition pieces, as well as the offshore substation and infield cables, were installed last year.
Water depths at the construction site, approximately 40km north of the island of Juist, range between 26 and 29 metres.
Full commercial operation of the Innogy and Northland Power-developed wind farm is slated for the end of the year.
“Almost all turbines are feeding green electricity in the grid. We are very happy with our progess to date, but remain focussed on full commercial commissioning,” said Nordsee 1 executive Pierre Lestienne.
