A2Sea has secured a deal to installed 66 transition pieces at the 396MW Merkur wind farm in the German North Sea.
Jack-up Sea Challenger (pictured) will start the job in October from Eemshaven in the Netherlands.
It is the first time the vessel will tackle TP installation, A2Sea said. The contract was awarded by balance of plant contractor GeoSea.
The wind farm is being developed by a consortium featuring Partners Group, InfraRed Capital Partners, DEME Concessions and Coriolis.
Located about 45km north of the Borkum islands, Merkur will consist of 66 GE Haliade 150 6MW turbines that are slated for commissioning in 2019.
