Offshore energy cable specialist JDR has appointed Richard Turner as its new chief executive following regulatory approval for its acquisition by Poland’s Tele-Fonika Kable.
Turner had been JDR’s chief operating officer since 2012. He replaces David Currie, who will take up a new board advisory role at the company.
Turner has also held senior management positions at Komatsu, Terex and Technip and has mechanical engineering and MBA degrees.
“The acquisition by TFKable Group is the desired next step in the evolution of JDR to be owned by and to join a large industrial trade player,” Currie said.
Final legal approval for the acquisition is expected within a week.
