Partrac has been selected by Statoil to conduct wave and current measurement work at the 30MW Hywind floating pilot project off Scotland.
The Glasgow-based consultancy has been contracted for a minimum of one year, with multi-year extension options.
It will deploy a Triaxys buoy to provide real-time wave spectra, profile and sea surface temperature data.
The information will be used to improve safety and assess the performance of the project’s five Siemens 6MW wind turbines, spar buoys and moorings.
Hywind is expected to be fully commissioned by October.
