Bladt Industries has completed the load out of final transition pieces for the second phase of Dong Energy’s 659MW Walney 3 offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea.
The Danish fabricator said the load out of the last four of 47 transition pieces on 31 July “went according to plan”.
The remaining 40 transition pieces for the first phase of the project have been produced in the UK by Bladt’s joint venture with EEW, Offshore Structures Britain.
Walney 3 will comprise 40 MHI Vestas V164 8MW turbines and 47 Siemens Gamesa SWP-7.0-154 machines.
It is scheduled to be fully commissioned in 2018.
