Bladt Industries has loaded out the first transition pieces for Dong Energy’s 660MW Walney 3 wind farm in the Irish Sea.
The Danish company has finalised the initial load out in Aalborg, where it has manufactured 47 of the 87 transition pieces needed for the offshore wind project.
The remaining 40 transition pieces are being produced in the UK by Bladt’s joint venture with EEW, Offshore Structures Britain.
Walney 3 is scheduled to be fully commissioned in 2018.
