Nordex and Senvion are going head to head for a plum 50-turbine order at Nuon’s 180MW Wieringermeer mega-farm in the Netherlands.
The developer is seeking onshore hardware rated at around 3.6MW to fit within a 120-metre hub height.
Vattenfall-owned Nuon is expected to finalise procurement by this autumn with first power planned for March 2019.
Nuon’s section of the Wieringermeer complex will be built in three separate phases of 16, five and 29 turbines.
Vestas is not in the race to become preferred supplier for Wieringermeer, as previously reported by reNEWS.
