The first transformer for the new onshore substation for SSE’s 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm off Scotland will be delivered to the site at Blackhillock today.
The unit will be transported over land from Buckie harbour to Blackhillock, south of Keith.
Concrete pouring for the onshore substation was wrapped up in April.
Beatrice will comprise 84 Siemens 7MW turbines and be fully operational in 2019.
