Pattern Energy has cut the ribbon on the in 324MW Broadview wind project that straddles the Texan and New Mexican borders.
Located about 30 miles north of Clovis, the project features 141 Siemens 2.3 MW turbines.
The developers also officially opened the project’s 35-mile 345kV Western Interconnect transmission line, connecting it to the Californian grid.
All of its output will be provided to Southern California Edison via two 20-year power purchase agreements.
“We see exciting development opportunities in this area of the country,” Pattern chief executive Mike Garland said.
“Pattern Development is actively developing several significant opportunities in New Mexico and the southwest US as part of the region’s increasing demand for low-cost, renewable energy,” Garland said.
