Canadian outfit Axys Technologies has appointed Guillaume Gautier as director of field services based in Nantes in France.
The company said the appointment is the first time such a senior operations appointment has been made outside of its main office in Canada.
Gautier was previously operations and production manager for Alseamar, a French technology company that designs, manufactures and delivers services for a range of submarine gliders, drones and propellers, surface drones and antenna systems for defence and other offshore industry applications.
Axys president and chief executive Terry Tarle said: “Guillaume’s appointment reflects the growing importance of our global fieldwork in the renewables sector.”
He noted that the company now has 11 WindSentinel floating lidars (pictured) contracted around the world, while growing demand is expected in Europe in the coming years.
“At the same time, we have seen consistent growth in the utilization of our wave and metocean buoys in sectors such as offshore construction, where we are now deployed on around a quarter of all of the offshore wind farms currently being built in Europe,” he said.
“We recognize the importance of Europe to our continued development and are glad to be able to extend our team with this appointment.”
