French bank Caisse de Depots has signed a long-term partnership with developer Ostwind to buy stakes in existing and future wind farms in the country.
The state-owned lender will initially buy interests in five projects in France with 36.6MW in total capacity, it said.
They comprise the 8MW La Volette operating wind farm and the 14MW La Butte de Soigny shovel-ready project, as well as three other facilities under construction: Le Champ des Vingt, Le Grand Champ and Alemont.
The partners also agreed to co-develop another 150MW of wind capacity in what is a first for Caisse de Depots, which had so far only invested in operating facilities.
Ostwind has developed 120 wind farms with a combined 255MW to date.
