RWE commissioned 83MW of wind and solar capacity in France over the summer.
The new additions, which comprise four wind farms and one solar farm, will be able to generate enough green electricity to supply around 40,000 households.
Located in the Hauts-de-France, Normandy and Nouvelle-Aquitaine regions, RWE started construction of the plants in 2024 following the successful participation in the French Energy Regulatory Commission’s (CRE) 2023 onshore wind and solar tenders.
In the Hauts-de-France region, RWE installed the 21.6MW six-turbine Catillon-Fumechon wind farm in the municipality of the same name.
It also installed the 29.2MW Catésis-Bois Marronnier wind farm, comprising eight turbines, in the municipalities of Troivilles and Reumont, and added four turbines worth 19.2MW to its Nouvions wind farm (pictured).
In Normandy, the company commissioned the Ormesnil wind farm, which has a capacity of 9.6MW and features two turbines. In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, RWE installed 7420 solar modules at the 4.2MWp Les Pierrières photovoltaic plant in Ardillières.

Building on these achievements, RWE is preparing to construct further wind farms in France.
