Swire Blue Ocean jack-up vessel Pacific Orca is being kitted out ahead of its next deployment installing turbines at the 336MW Galloper offshore wind farm off the Suffolk coast.
Preparations are underway at Esbjerg in Denmark, where some 850 tonnes of sea-fastening equipment has been installed on the vessel.
Extra technical equipment is also being added to the craft, which should depart for Great Yarmouth in late April to start loading the first of Galloper’s 56 Siemens 6MW turbines.
Turbine installation is expected to begin in May.
Dutch company Heerema has loaded the offshore substation topside for the 336MW Galloper wind farm on to a barge at its Hartlepool yard.
