Falck Renewables has started commercial operations at its 36MW Auchrobert wind farm in Scotland.
The project, which is located 9km south of Strathaven in South Lanarkshire, consists of 12 GE 3.2-103 turbines and will produce 107,100 megawatt-hours of electricity a year.
The company is talking to people in Blackwood, Kirkmuirhill and Boghead to discuss arrangements for distributing the project’s community benefit fund to local schemes.
Falck Renewables chief executive Toni Volpe said: “Auchrobert is our 10th wind farm to become operational in Scotland and brings our installed capacity in the UK up to 413MW.”
