Ailes Marines has appointed UK outfit Bibby Hydromap to carry out an unexploded ordnance (UXO) survey of the proposed 496MW Bay of Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm site off the coast of Brittany.
The work will start this month and take about 11 days, Ailes Marines said.
The 27.5-metre Bibby Tethra (pictured) will carry out the work using nine Geometrics G882 magnetometers mounted on three Katria ScanFish remotely operated towed vehicles.
The survey is a mandatory prerequisite for the geotechnical campaign to help reduce UXO risk at the site.
The project will feature 62 Adwen 8MW turbines.
Ailes Marines is a consortium of Iberdrola, RES and Caisse des Depots.
