UK outfit 3sun Group has obtained DNV GL certification for the new mandatory safety and technical training for wind turbine technicians.
DNV GL confirmed the accreditation for the Global Wind Organisation’s basic maintenance training last week, the company said.
Its 3sun Academy in Great Yarmouth is now the second UK centre that can provide the course, which will be compulsory for all turbine technicians from November.
The academy is planning its first six-and-a half day trainings in early summer.
3sun is in talks to deliver the training at a minimum of three more centres across the country.
