The first piles for the 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm off Scotland have been loaded out and are on their way to the project site in the Outer Moray Firth.
The piles were loaded on a barge at the BiFab yard in Arnish, Scotland, developer SSE said.
Seaway Heavy Lifting heavy-lift vessel Stanislav Yudin will start pre-piling work tomorrow.
The job will smooth the path to full turbine jacket installation at the project site later this year.
Beatrice will feature 84 Siemens 7MW turbines once commissioned in 2019.
