Enel Green Power Mexico has started construction of the 754MW Villanueva solar plant in Coahuila state.
The $650m project will consist of two parks of 427MW and 327MW, which are being built at the same, Enel said.
Villanueva is scheduled to come online in the second half of 2018, it added.
Enel director of renewable energies for Central America Paolo Romanacci said: “Mexico is a key country for Enel, and we are excited to continue contributing to the growth of the country’s electricity sector with the clean energy generated by Villanueva.”
Enel Green Power Mexico has also recently started construction of the 200MW Amistad wind farm in Cohauila and will soon start building the Don José solar plant in Guanajuato and the 93MW Salitrillos wind farm in Tamaulipas.
