BAM has hailed the completion of the final roof panel on the float and submerge foundations for the 41.5MW Blyth offshore demonstrator off the UK coast as a “major milestone”.
The fabrication outfit is tackling the manufacturing of the gravity-base foundations for the project at the Neptune dry dock on the Tyne.
It said today on its Twitter feed the last roof panel had been installed on the foundations.
All five bases are expected to be floated out shortly before being towed to site for installation later in the year.
The foundations will support five 8.3MW turbines supplied by MHI Vestas. The wind farm is being developed by EDF.
