Jan De Nul jack-up Vole au Vent successfully underwent pre-turbine installation fit out at the Dutch port of Vlissingen before undertaking the job at the 165MW Belwind 2 project off Belgium.
The vessel was readied for turbine installation at the Damen Shiprepair and Conversion facility after completing the Nobelwind project’s foundation campaign.
Over two weeks, the vessel’s main deck was cleared of equipment and temporary structures to allow it to accommodate turbine installation equipment plus towers and blades.
The vessel is currently tackling turbine installation at the wind farm. Nobelwind expects to complete Belwind 2 during the first half of 2017.
