Doris Renewables, the new clean power arm of Doris Engineering, is initially focussing on floating offshore wind projects in France.
It is working for EDF Energies Nouvelles on the 24MW Provence Grand Large floating offshore wind farm in France, which is scheduled for commissioning in 2020.
Doris Renewables said it is also working for Quadran on the 24MW EolMed floating wind farm in the Mediterranean.
Doris Engineering renewables business unit head Jérôme Iacovella said: “In creating this new division, we would like to grow marine renewables to 30% of group turnover within five years, compared with 5% to 10% at the present time.”
The company said the new business will complement the group’s London headquartered subsidiary ODE, which will provide operations and maintenance services for both floating and fixed offshore wind markets.
Iacovella said: “While ODE has been at the forefront of fixed marine renewables for almost 20 years, Doris Engineering itself has also been active in this market for 15 years, but without having a formalised structure.
“With the creation of Doris Renewables, the group now has real structure and identity to meet the needs of clients across the marine renewable energy sector.”
Doris said it is also collaborating with Bardot on the development of an ocean thermal energy plant.
