Thomson Ecology has been contracted by Dong Energy to carry out ecological surveys of the onshore cable route for the 2.4GW Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm off the Norfolk coast.
The survey results will feed into the environmental statement for the project, Thomson said.
The work will take nine months and include surveys for bats, reptiles, great crested newts, badgers, otters, water voles and white-clawed crayfish.
The onshore cable route will connect Hornsea 3 to the national grid at Norwich main.
