Support services outfit Certex UK has opened an office and workshop in Hull to target the local wind power market.
The company said the new office is fundamental for its plans to support the growing offshore wind market, to which it supplies equipment and inspection services.
The branch, its eighth in the country, will expand its renewables and lifting operations in the Humber region.
It plans to employ and train local labour for the new office, which will see a recruitment drive for on-shore vacancies as well as off-shore roles.
Certex UK is a unit of Swedish company Axel Johnson.
“Our growth and acquisition program has begun to reap rewards and we are delighted to be able to offer our current and new customers an increasing level of service from the geographic benefits of this new strategic location,” managing director Kevin Smith said.
