The second substation for Dong Energy’s 573MW Race Bank wind farm in the UK North Sea has set sail from Hoboken, Belgium.
The topside and the jacket, fabricated by Engie Fabricom and Iemants, will be installed by Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL) later this quarter.
SHL installed the first of the two substations (pictured) for the offshore wind project off the Norfolk coast last August.
Race Bank will feature 91 Siemens 6.3MW turbines and is scheduled to come online next year.
