Finnish company Bladefence is to provide blade maintenance for compatriot wind power developer Suomen Hyötytuuli’s onshore turbines in Finland.
The five-year “spindurance” contract covers 39 machines, including Vestas 3.3MW and Siemens 2.3MW hardware.
Suomen Hyötytuuli technology manager Jaakko Kleemola said: “By focusing on preventive maintenance we can minimise the lifetime cost and unexpected damage in turbines, and anticipate maintenance costs.”
Bladefence managing director Ville Karkkolainen said: “Having a multiple-year service contract with a major Finnish wind power production company is of high value to us, and paves way for a more proactive approach to wind turbine blade maintenance.”
