Development outfit 2020 Renewables has filed to build a seven-turbine wind farm at Gilston north of Galashiels in the Scottish Borders.
The Velocita subsidiary is seeking local authority approval for the 21MW project, which is on acreage previously included in a rejected 16-machine layout put forward by Ridgewind/Blue Energy.
Tips at the project are set at 126.5 metres and 3MW hardware is in the frame.
The smaller footprint when compared with the original plan will reduce visual, landscape and environmental impacts, said the developer.
Gilston is close to ScottishPower’s 47MW Dun Law 1 & 2 project and SSE’s 30MW Toddleburn wind farm, both operational.
