Senvion has signed a conditional contract to deliver turbines with more than 300MW of capacity to two wind farms in Australia.
The agreement with developer Nexif Energy involves the installation and maintenance of 3.6M140 machines at the 25-turbine Glen Innes project in New South Wales and the 59-turbine Lincoln Gap facility in South Australia.
It is the first deal in Australia for Senvion’s new turbine model, which was unveiled in September.
The German manufacturer has delivered 218 turbines with more than 440MW in the country since 2002.
“We are particularly happy to announce this contract with Nexif Energy, only a short time after being selected as single preferred supplier,” Senvion chief executive Jürgen Geissinger said.
“This highlights the strong product fit Senvion can provide for Australian projects. We are very much looking forward to further building on our partnership with Nexif Energy.”
