Terra Firma has agreed to sell Infinis Group’s operational onshore wind farms in the UK, which total 409MW, to institutional investors advised by JP Morgan Asset Management.
The sale, which is expected to close early in the second quarter of 2017, includes 19 operating wind farms totalling 343MW and one 66MW project which is expected to become operational by the end of February.
The transaction follows the sale of Infinis’ landfill gas assets to 3i Infrastructure in December 2016 and, when complete, will complete the sale by Terra Firma of all of the Infinis Group’s operating assets.
Infinis retains a portfolio of 14 onshore wind sites in the development phase, which it will look to sell in due course, Terra Firma said.
JP Morgan Asset Management Infrastructure Investments Group chief investment officer Matthew LeBlanc said: “We are delighted to acquire the onshore operational wind interests of Infinis’ UK wind portfolio from Terra Firma.
“The acquisition continues our investment momentum in renewables, complementing the existing investment base, and increases our renewables energy production capacity to over 3200MW.”
