German outfits OIS Offshore Industrie Service and Green Wind Offshore have won a contract to provide maintenance services for the 900MW DolWin3 grid link in the North Sea.
The deal with GE Grid comprises a preparation period of several months followed by a five-year maintenance phase, the companies said.
It includes the maintenance of the DolWin gamma converter station, which is currently under construction, and the 400kV Doerpen West transformer station on the mainland.
The pair have developed a management concept for offshore wind maintenance that includes a 24/7 control room that can monitor all the processes, conditions and service team’s activities at the site.
The DolWin3 project to link offshore wind farms with the German mainland is scheduled to be completed this year.
