Trianel has extended an EMS Maritime Offshore (EMO) contract for crew transfer services at the 200MW Borkum West offshore wind farm in the German North Sea until 2019.
EMO’s Windea One crew transfer vessel will continue to work at the wind farm out of a base on the island of Borkum, approximately 45km from the project site.
The work includes the transport of service engineers, freight and goods to and from the wind farm from a floating dock at the island.
Windea One is a Damen FCS 2610 model vessel, which has been in service since 2013 under a German flag.
EMO head of maritime services Jan Heyenga said: “The collaboration, which has now continued for four years, is ideal.
“During our daily operations, we see how important a well-coordinated and experienced team comprising of the ship’s crew and service engineers is.”
Borkum West has been in operation since 2013 and features 40 5MW Adwen turbines.
