The second substation topside for Dong Energy’s 573MW Race Bank wind farm is ready for loading and installation in the UK North Sea.
The topside as well as the jacket were fabricated by Engie Fabricom and Iemants and will be installed by Seaway Heavy Lifting later this quarter.
This is the fourth substation manufactured by the joint venture with design undertaken in the UK by Atkins.
Race’s initial substation was installed last year, again by SHL.
Race Bank will feature 91 Siemens 6.3MW turbines and is due online in 2018.
Dong and Macquarie each own 50% of the wind farm.
