Transmission system operator TenneT has completed repairs to the 916MW DolWin2 grid hub in the German North Sea two months ahead of schedule.
TenneT wrapped up the work to the 90km onshore portion of ABB-made cables earlier this week, as reported in the latest issue of subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS.
The grid connection has been offline since 1 November and downtime was scheduled to last until 27 March.
“Enormous effort” from all companies, authorities and landowners involved, as well as favourable weather conditions, made the fast-track solution possible, TenneT said.
DolWin2 will link up Dong Energy’s 576MW Gode 1&2 offshore wind farms.
