TenneT has asked ABB to remedy a problem with the HVDC cable on the 916MW DolWin2 grid connection in the German North Sea.
The transmission operator said the fault with grid connection, which is set to link up the Gode 1 and 2 offshore wind farms, arose during testing.
It added that there has been a total five unplanned automatic shutdowns of the grid connection and so a problem with the cable has been assumed.
TenneT said it has “full confidence” in ABB’s ability to sort out the fault on the 135km long cable.
Dolwin2 is scheduled to come online later this year.
