Nordex Group’s order intake grew by 33.6% to €3.3bn in 2016, up from €2.47bn in 2015.
The German manufacturer said the geographical distribution of 2016 orders widened following the acquisition of Acciona Windpower.
As a result of the acquisition, the share of South and North American orders in 2016 increased to 34% from 10% the previous year, Nordex said.
New orders from South American countries amounted to €560m, while the US contributed €550m.
Europe and Africa contributed 65% of total order volume, down from 90% in 2015.
Nordex said new orders in Germany were more than €1.17bn, compared with €915m in 2015.
However, the achieved order intake for 2016 fell just under 3% short of the company’s full-year target. This was because of the postponement of a major order in South America, the company said.
