GE Renewable Energy booked orders totalling over $10bn in 2016, up 38% on 2015.
The company reported more than $1.9bn of onshore wind turbine orders in the US totalling 660MW in the fourth quarter of the year.
It added that work started in the last three months of last year at its St Nazaire facility in France on nacelles for the 396MW Merkur offshore wind farm.
In the company’s hydro unit, it won contracts for six 500MW turbines and generators for the Lianghekou project in China and an 82.5MW extension project in Vietnam.
