The 165MW Belwind 2 offshore wind farm off the coast of Belgium has started generating electricity for the first time.
Parkwind, one of the investors in developer Nobelwind, said the first of 50 Vestas V112 3.3MW turbines is producing power.
Jan de Nul is installing the hardware at the wind farm, which is expected to be completed in the first half of this year.
Parkwind (41.08%), Sumitomo Corp (39.02%) and Meerwind (19.9%) are the investors in Nobelwind.
